ABOHNS Announces the Election of New 2025 Leadership

The American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (ABOHNS) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the election of new leadership. Beginning March 29, the ABOHNS leaders introduced below have assumed their new roles.
Ronald B. Kuppersmith, MD, MBA
President
Dr. Ronald Kuppersmith is in private practice in College Station, Texas, and serves as Chief Executive Officer of ENT Specialty Partners. He also holds an appointment as a Clinical Professor of Surgery at Texas A&M University College of Medicine. He has served as the President of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS) and the Texas Association of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery (TAO).
Dr. Kuppersmith has an interest in innovation in health care. He has served as a founder, inventor, investigator, advisor, and board member to help bring new technologies to otolaryngology-head and neck surgery. Dr. Kuppersmith was certified by ABOHNS in 2000, elected to the ABOHNS Board of Directors in 2017, and served as Treasurer 2020-2024.
Bradley F. Marple, MD
President-Elect
Dr. Marple is a Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He also serves as the department’s Arthur E. Meyerhoff Chair, among many other administrative and clinical roles. Dr. Marple’s clinical interests include inflammatory sinonasal disease, acute and chronic sinusitis, sinonasal disease that is refractory to medical and surgical treatment, and anterior skull-base defects. Dr. Marple was certified by ABOHNS in 1995 and elected to the ABOHNS Board of Directors in 2018.
Theodoros N. Teknos, MD
Director
Dr. Teknos is President & Scientific Director for the University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center and Deputy Director of the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. In his role as President & Scientific Director, Dr. Teknos leads the development of strategic, business and marketing plans for UH Seidman, including cancer-related palliative care, integrative care and interface with UH Hospice care. He oversees all inpatient and ambulatory cancer care delivered at facilities across the UH system. Dr. Teknos provides leadership of UH Seidman’s academic components and the Clinical Trials Unit and directs UH Seidman’s involvement in the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. He serves on the Board of Directors of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. Dr. Teknos was certified by ABOHNS in 1997.
